Blott, we think, has pulled through. We planned to keep here in another day, but then Auk got in trouble. Auk is an older Light Brahma hen - from our second batch of chicks. I found her this afternoon, wedged underneath one of the perches over the roosting pit. She was well and truly stuck, with her wing canted over the perch and her body underneath. I screamed for Tom and we lifted the perch up. Auk looked pretty bad - her comb was a deep purply red - from dehydration I think. She was fine yesterday afternoon, but could have been stuck 18 hours or so. Anyhow, she is now inside and Blot is back out. Auk is eating everything in sight and looking much better. She may never lay as many eggs as before, after getting so dehydrated.

And, it is snowing, again. A fast moving storm we thought would bring maybe 4 inches, is well over 4 now and is coming down heavy and will snow until late tonight.
