Cold Turkey

posted Saturday, 21 January 2006
Although it is warm out, we - like the rest of the locals - had huge sticker shock when our electric bil went up 81% due an NSTAR rate change.

And our satellite internet provider, Starband, cut off our high-speed access.  They said I was using up too much bandwidth (playing my Second Life game, I'm sure) and cut access down to 60k.  Without telling us.  We are furious.  And so I've called Adelphia to look into switching.  They will call to set up a site survey within a week.

Headed to Boston Monday and Tuesday for lots of testing on Tom.  The hotel has wi-fi, hope to catch up with Second Life Monday night.
