Genomic Medicine

posted Monday, 23 April 2007

Hi, I have no idea who Dr. Alan H. Goldstein is, but the blog he wrote (see link below) does a good job of summing up the current state and immediate future of genomic (individualized) medicine in laymen's terms.  I am currently trying to decide how far to push to obtain the gene expression profile of my melanoma.  Out of curiosity, I would love to see it; as a practical matter, does it make a difference in 2007? In 2025 it surely will. Time travel, anyone?

In my opinion, his economics is far more speculative and shakier than his science.

Tom.
