More fittings

posted Wednesday, 11 January 2006
Tom went to Boston yesterday to see the guy who is making his new dental appliance.  He'd hoped it would be done, because the temporary one put in as part of the surgery, is not doing well.  It can't make a tight seal .  But the new thing won't be ready until sometime in Feb. and in the meantime will take more fittings and impressions before it is done.  But the dentist could tighten the temp up a bit, which has helped.

Sunshiney and warm here today - I keep wating for winter's other shoe to drop.  It feels like spring out there and the three brahma roosters have started to squabble.  I'm feeling better and, while waiting for Mama's afghan kit to arrive from Wales, have started on a Fair Isle hat.  The egg border on the sheep afghan isn't finished, but I'm tired of big knitting needles.  The Fair Isle is done on a US size 1 and 3 - and I usually knit socks with US 0.  So the US 8s I use for the afghan feel like knitting with telephone poles.

I'm enjoying Second LIfe, a massive multi-player online game.  (That is free, if you have the bandwidth, give it a try.)  Anyhow, my usual AV (avatar) is is blue, winged fairy-elf type who wears kimonos.  But, my AV caught cold as well (I decided) and I'm turning into a green orc, very spikey!  There are lots of fairy-elf types in SL, not so many orcs and certainly not many female orcs!  I'm Weave Farina in SL, come visit my burrow!
