We spent much of Friday getting cable installed. When the guy from Adelphia left, he said that the system would reset itself and the cable to the TV and the high speed internet connection would be working within an hour. Didn't. After several hours, still didn't. Called Adelphia. They sent a different guy out Saturday morning. It was obvious the two cable guys do not get along. The second cable guy spent hours re-doing all the first guy's stuff (which the second guy said wasn't connected).
After many hours, the TV works and Tom can get high speed. But it doesn't work over the LAN or wi-fi. But that isn't an Adelphia problem. We need to get the local PC guys out to fix that.
Nevertheless, I feel like I've teleported 5 years ahead in technology. The cable TV with DVR is astounding. Being able to pause and rewind a TV show in progress is amazing.
One of the cable guys said "I've a million questions about why you two are the most technologically advanced chicken farmers I've ever met."
And I'm up to the armpits of the baby alpaca Fair Isle vest, and having nightmares about steeking. This is the vest so far.

This is a close up of my nightmare.

i will say, I've learned a lot about steeking and am now setting up the thing much better than I was in the first couple of inches of knitting. For that reason I'm both going to hand sew and crochet the 3 steeks (front and armholes). It is still a ways off, but, I'm girding my loins for steeking. sigh.
