Second Day at the Fair

posted Friday, 18 August 2006
Tom taught 116 kids of all ages to weave today (for a total of 220).  He is getting hoarse but holding up well.  Year before last Tom taught 400 kids, so I expect we may be a bit under that this year.  Depends on when the rain starts on Sunday.

The sheep afghan (with borders of chickens and eggs and with the island in the center) got a second ribbon - not sure when that happened, I guess it was after the regular judging.  Even though it took second in the afghan category, it got a special award for "the most creative fiber-art/needlecraft entry in the Department".  I'm thrilled and have had lots of compliments on the afghan.
